I'm Still Me

Welcome to I’m Still Me

What we are

We are a non-profit Christian based charity/ministry created to raise awareness and break the stigmas associated with mental illness and to encourage kindness, empathy and validation to those who have struggles.

What we want to do

  • We want to raise money to donate to local charities, ministries and schools to assist in providing opportunities for those struggling with mental illness
  • We have already hosted 2 charity beach volleyball tournaments
    • Spike the Stigma, Serve Kindness – in 2022 and 2023. These tournaments each raised about $2000, and the majority of that money was donated to Buckeye Valley Local Schools Counseling Departments.
    • We have plans in the works for the 3rd annual beach volleyball tournament and plan to donate the raised money to the Buckeye Valley LifeWise ministry and to the Buckeye Valley Local Schools Counseling Departments.
  • We plan on designing and selling t-shirts related to mental health, kindness and biblical truths.
  • We plan to update our blog to share what we have learned as a family dealing with mental health struggles.
  • We plan to write devotionals specifically related to mental illness utilizing biblical truths to challenge others to seek Christ and lean on faith in the difficult times, and to also remind ourselves to be loving, kind, accepting and judgement free to others who have mental health struggles.

2nd Annual Spike to Stigma, Serve Kindness Beach Volleyball Tournament

On July 29, 2023, we hosted the 2nd Annual Spike the Stigma, Serve Kindness Beach Volleyball Tournament. We had 8 teams that played, a mix of HS and adult co-ed teams. We had a silent auction which included a variety of items, including a pair of OSU/Penn State football tickets, two 4 pack tickets to OSU Women’s Volleyball matches, a pair of OSU/Western Michigan basketball tickets, and an OSU jersey signed by the 2023-2024 OSU men’s basketball team. This event raised about $2500. We donated most of this money to the Buckeye Valley Middle School and High School counseling departments to use for student needs.
